Question: Why is Mingus smiling?
Answer: Because he's having fun, of course!
Did you know that the downward force (weight) of the tire and its passengers are balanced by the the upward force of the pole support? Tension is the pulling force that is created by the transfer of energy between both ends of the chain. The tire will only move when the equilibrium of the system is disturbed. So go ahead, give Mingus a push!
